About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Mechanical / Ocean / Robotics Engineering Intern with a strong background in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to support the design and development of an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV).
The role involves working on hydrodynamic design, drag optimization, and simulation-driven development of underwater robotic systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop AUV hull structures and external geometries
- Perform CFD simulations for:
- Drag estimation
- Flow behavior analysis
- Propulsion interaction
- Optimize design for:
- Hydrodynamic efficiency
- Stability and maneuverability
- Work on CAD modeling and design iterations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (electronics, controls, manufacturing)
- Document simulation results and design improvements
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Pursuing or recently completed B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Ocean Engineering
- Robotics or related fields
- Strong fundamentals in:
- Fluid mechanics
- Hydrodynamics
- Hands-on experience with any CFD tools.
- Experience in CAD tools such as:
- SolidWorks / CATIA / Fusion 360
- Basic understanding of:
- Turbulence models (k-ε, k-ω SST)
- Meshing strategies and boundary conditions.
