About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Mechanical / Ocean / Robotics Engineering Intern with a strong background in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to support the design and development of an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV).
The role involves working on hydrodynamic design, drag optimization, and simulation-driven development of underwater robotic systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop AUV hull structures and external geometries
  • Perform CFD simulations for:
    • Drag estimation
    • Flow behavior analysis
    • Propulsion interaction
  • Optimize design for:
    • Hydrodynamic efficiency
    • Stability and maneuverability
  • Work on CAD modeling and design iterations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (electronics, controls, manufacturing)
  • Document simulation results and design improvements


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Pursuing or recently completed B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech in:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Ocean Engineering
    • Robotics or related fields
  • Strong fundamentals in:
    • Fluid mechanics
    • Hydrodynamics
  • Hands-on experience with any CFD tools.
  • Experience in CAD tools such as:
    • SolidWorks / CATIA / Fusion 360
  • Basic understanding of:
    • Turbulence models (k-ε, k-ω SST)
    • Meshing strategies and boundary conditions.
